Dark & Lovely Chocolate Tart

Ingredients

Crust

  • cups activated nuts – pecan, walnuts, almond, hazelnuts or macadamias
  • ½ cup shredded coconut
  • 6 tablespoons cacao powder
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons coconut oil
  • ¼ teaspoon Himalayan salt

Filling

  • 1 cup cacao powder
  • 5 tablespoons honey
  • 2 avocados
  • 5 tablespoons coconut oil
  • ¼ teaspoon Himalayan salt

Instructions

Crust

  • Add all the crust ingredients to the food processor and process until all ingredients are well blended. Don’t blend too long if you want to keep the crust crunchy.
  • Press down in a flat tart dish. The crust must be about ½ cm thick.

Filling

  • Place all filling ingredients into the food processor and process until ingredients are well blended and very smooth.
  • Spoon filling onto crust in tart dish (about 1½ cm thick).
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight before serving.

Notes

This tart is complemented well with strawberries or a cooked berry sauce.
