We love all things chocolate! This creamy chocolate tart has been a hit in our family, as well as with our other dark-chocolate loving friends, who absolutely cannot believe that there is avocado in here.
Dark & Lovely Chocolate Tart
Ingredients
Crust
- 1½ cups activated nuts – pecan, walnuts, almond, hazelnuts or macadamias
- ½ cup shredded coconut
- 6 tablespoons cacao powder
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 3 tablespoons coconut oil
- ¼ teaspoon Himalayan salt
Filling
- 1 cup cacao powder
- 5 tablespoons honey
- 2 avocados
- 5 tablespoons coconut oil
- ¼ teaspoon Himalayan salt
Instructions
Crust
- Add all the crust ingredients to the food processor and process until all ingredients are well blended. Don’t blend too long if you want to keep the crust crunchy.
- Press down in a flat tart dish. The crust must be about ½ cm thick.
Filling
- Place all filling ingredients into the food processor and process until ingredients are well blended and very smooth.
- Spoon filling onto crust in tart dish (about 1½ cm thick).
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight before serving.
Notes
This tart is complemented well with strawberries or a cooked berry sauce.
